Challenge to American professor
Kashi astrologers, religious leaders also called Kankal’s argument of 13 zodiac signs a hypothesis
Indian professors of astrology and astronomy scholars have challenged Shastrarth to American professor Park Kankal. In fact, these scholars are protesting the theory of Kankal of including ‘Ophiucus’ in the family of 12 zodiac signs. Kankal is asked to prove the same claim. Religious leaders and astrologers have said that a team will proceed to America if Prof. Kankal does not come.
Astrologers from Varanasi say that the research is important, but without proving it before the 'astrology', the oldest Vedanga, no claim is appropriate. “B.H.U. Vishva Panchang" (B.H.U. World Almanac) editor Dr. R. C. Pathak said where no evidence is found, Vedas are supposed to be the evidence. Indian astrology is also a part of Vedas. We have 12 zodiac signs and all the calculations are done on this basis. Prof. Nagendra Pandeya, president of Dept. Of Astrology, Sampurnanand Sanskrit University said that research is important for development. In Indian astrology, there is a description of some petty planets, but their existence is negligible. We do not protest the claim of Prof.Kankal, but simply request to prove the same. Astrologer Dr. Laxman Das describes that all the facts in Indian astrology are completely scientific and proved. It existed even when the word science did not exist.
